Quercus Bicolor Swamp White Oak Seedlings All Specialty Plants Since 1959 old_product_id_10723 Since 1959 including occasionally soggy and dry sites Landscape architects have repeatedly been drawn to the plant for its upright‚ bold growth habit and its ability to develop into a graceful specimen over time․ The dense shade provided by the canopy of fresh green leaves in spring provides cooling shade and green color during the growing season․ In addition‚ the foliage provides textural detail to the landscape that contrasts well with flowering shrubs and ornamental grasses and provides a backdrop for woodland wildflowers and other native hardwoods․ In autumn‚ the colorful golden yellow‚ bronze and brown shades of the foliage also add seasonal interest before the strong branching structure and handsome form become more obvious during the winter months․
